Tie the knot without tying yourself in knots!

Whether you’re dreaming of an elopement, a barefoot ceremony on the beach with just your nearest and dearest, or a grand celebration - planning your wedding is about you. When it comes to wedding ceremonies there is no one-size fits all. No matter what kind of wedding you are planning, there are a few key “to-do’s” before you say “I do”.

  1. Start with your heart: what matters most to you both? What atmosphere do you want? What is the feeling you want to remember from your ceremony? Your answers will shape everything else …guest lists, venues, colour schemes and everything else!

  2. Set your budget: one you can stick to…mostly!. Weddings can be as simple or as elaborate as you like - deciding your budget early will help guide your decisions. Be realistic and flexible. Remember it’s not about how much you spend, it’s about how much love there is at the ceremony.

  3. Choose the right celebrant for you. Your celebrant helps create the tone of your ceremony. Choose someone you click with. Don’t be afraid to ask your celebrant questions or meet for a coffee - we love a good chat!

  4. Paperwork and legal stuff. Even the most romantic ceremonies need a bit of admin! Your celebrant will guide you through applying for your marriage licence and certificate and guiding you through to ensure everything is legally correct.

  5. Practice the pause. Amidst the planning, don’t forget what the day is about: two people choosing each other. It’s easy to get lost in Pinterest boards and party favours! Build in a little rituals to connect with your partner before your special day - it might be a quiet cuppa or a no-wedding-talk date night!

Big, small, traditional, modern or totally you - your wedding is a celebration of love, not logistics. So, take a breath, ask for help and enjoy the journey!
